Getting hands dirty for climate change
21 September 2007
Climate Positive works with our partners to achieve a beyond carbon neutral position.
Climate Positive assists our partners to understand climate change, measure and reduce emissions and offset 100% of residual emissions through purchasing carbon offsets from accredited projects that prevent greenhouse gas release. In addition Climate Positive replants carbon rich ecologically diverse forests on cleared land in some of the highest carbon yield areas on the Australian landscape. These forests are permanently protected and will draw own significant additional carbon from the atmosphere over time.
Climate Positive was recently joined by forty-five of our partners in the Strzelecki Ranges in South Gippsland, Victoria, to have a real and tangible contribution towards combating climate change, by planting four hectares of Eucalyptus regnans forests adjacent to the Tarra Bulga National Park.
The event received some local media from media coverage from ABC radio, JOY FM, the Yarram Standard and the La Trobe Valley Express.
