Australian Ecosystems
All Climate Positive offset planting programs will be overseen and carried out by Australian Ecosystems Pty Ltd.
Australian Ecosystems is one of Australia's largest ecological restoration companies, and has successfully completed over 400 ecological restoration projects in South Eastern Australia over the past 10 years.
Australian Ecosystems is the major sponsor of the Climate Positive project, having contributed around $200,000 to the project as a philanthropic grant and CSR contribution towards reducing global warming. Australian Ecosystems is a triple bottom line company and has donated over $600,000 to environmental and social projects over the past ten years.
Australian Ecosystems staff have assisted in identifying appropriate high carbon yield sites in the Strzelecki Ranges, and have built a diverse seed bank of local seed for the initial plantings. Australian Ecosystems staff have also identified key partners and regional strategic conservation initiatives to which Climate Positive plantings can contribute.
As the Climate Positive project expands nationally, Australian Ecosystems will assist in identifying appropriate sites, conservation strategies, partners, land care networks and contractors who can assist in restoration of biodiverse high carbon yield forests in all states, from the Daintree to South Western Australia to Tasmania.
The company has successfully established over 15 million plants over the past decade in woodland, wetland, saltmarsh, grassland and heathland ecological communities in Victoria.
Australian Ecosystems has a proven record in large-scale replanting projects, with the ability to successfully establish diverse and complex plant communities.
The Australian Ecosystems planting teams have proficient horticultural knowledge, and also a holistic understanding of natural systems and their management requirements. The team of over 80 people has the ability to install 100,000 plants per week by utilising efficient, modern planting techniques which also guarantee high plant survival rates.
